Imperial Navy Makes Gains In Gvurron Campaign

Imperial Navy Forces, in a series of massive strikes, have dealt an apparent death blow to Vargr forces fighting as part of the so-called 'Unity' movement operating out of the Gvurron Subsector.

Under the command of Grand Admiral William Grey, 3 heavily armed naval task forces struck deep into Vargr territory and decimated several strategic staging areas being used by the unity movement and their corsair minion to raid into Imperial space.

This campaign marks a decisive change in Imperial strategy, previously focusing on measured response and minimal collateral damage. Before the Naval attacks, most engagements were assigned to ground forces and focussed on eliminating actual Unity forces on the ground.

The recent attacks by the Imperial Navy have been descibed as 'Massive attacks against infrastructure'. When asked for additional details, the Naval offices issued a statement that the task forces were ordered to destroy in detail all facilities in the Gvurrdon Subsector known or believed to be used by Unity forces.

Imperial forces participating in the attacks include several Batron from the Rehina, Rhylanor and Jewell subsectors, and included a significant number of planetary bombardment vessels. Imperial casualties have be reported as 'very light'.

Several Vargr goverments in the Gvurrdon subsector have decried the attacks as vicious and indiscriminate. "These attacks were brutal, mercilous attrocities in which thousands of innocent Vargrs were killed and maimed. None of the facilities involved had anny connection to the Unity movement" stated Thane Grrug Kkrgr, Vargr Consul to Regina. "This is just another attempt to keep the Vargr subordinate to Humaniti. This is nothing more than lynching on a grand scale."

Thane Kkrgr further stated that "[Grand Admiral] Grey and his officers should stand trial for war crimes".

Admiral Grey's staff issued a terse response stated that "all of the objectives of the mission had been met".
