InstellArms 599 Sniper Rifle
The Model 599 sniper rifle is a faily conventional bolt action, magazine fed precision rifle built to exacting tolerences. The gun is built around an alloy chassis to which the receiver, stock and barrel are all affixed, insuring total regidity that is uneffected by temperature and moisture. The barrel is a laser-bored rifled steel liner encases in a carbon-fiber composite that is 4 times stiffer than steel and has superior thermal transfer.
All 599s leaving the factory must be able to place 5 rounds of target ammunition within a 10mm circle at 100 meters. The barrel is designed to be replaced in the field by an armorer with simple tools, and the systems supports a wide range of calibers. The rifle is generally encountered in the standard 7x50mm or the long range 8x62mm sniper.
