Slidewalk Accident Claims Victim

Freemantle Archology - In what is being described by authorities as a "freak Accident", a malfunctioning slidewalk seriously injured a passenger, who later died from his injuries.

Authorities immediately shut down all slidewalks on level 3 as a precautionary measure, insuring no other riders were put at risk.

Safety inspectors reviewing the slidewalk black box were able to determine that a highly unlikely triple failure of the slidewalk cut out mechanism allwed a section of slidewalk being repaired to become operational.

Witnesses noted that the still unidentified victim crossed several clearly marked safety barriers, before becoming entagled with exposed machinery and being mortally injured.

Workers noted that the victim apparently warded off a rescue attempt by another citizen who attempted to stop the man.

"It was like he didn't want to be saved. Almost like his was looking to get killed", said Marcus Pliny, senior transportation engineer.

Authorities have stated they are investigating the possibility of a suicide.

"These slidewalks are very safe and mature technology", said seargent Dieter Prisby, spokesman for the Freemantle Police. "Slidewalk injuries are extremely rare, and almost always involve unsafe practices on the part of the rider".

Police Officer Missing

Freemantle Authorities have requested the help of all citizens in locating patrol officer Jame Perkins, who was last seen on Level 3 grey section, area 10 at 1:23 PM.

Police believe that Officer Perkins may have been injured in an accident that also disabled his locator.

Residents and block captains on grey section should report to their area monitors for further instructions.
